Jive Talk in BIG WEST FESTIVAL 2009

Well everyone, we've just moved out of October and the exciting news is that Jive Talk has been included in the bi-annual BIG WEST FESTIVAL!

This great festival is jam packed with art of all descriptions over a nine day period, starting November 20 and concluding November 29. Check out their website for more about the program and try to get along to some of the amazing talent on display!!!

As for JIVE TALK, we will be hosting the ETHICAL CONSUMER GROUP on Sunday 22nd of November at 2pm (I think, will confirm the time).

This will be a great time to come along and learn a bit about ethical shopping, fair trade products and other things like food miles and how it all effects us in our day to day lives.

Will be posting more as the event draws near, but stay tuned and keep JIVIN'!!!!

OCTOBER JIVE TALK!!!

So we've reached October already and it's soon approaching this month's Jive Talk. We are still in the process of finalizing a speaker, but the details of this months session are as follows...

When: Thursday October 29
Where: Dog Theatre, Dancing Dog Cafe. 22a Albert St Footscray 3011
Time: 7:00pm

We will be posting more information regarding the issue and speaker as they come to hand.

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Jive Talk on the web. It's been a crazy couple of months putting Jive Talk into action and we are finally online. This page will be dedicated to posting information, videos and resources related to each of the issues/speakers we present.

Along with that, we will be informing people of upcoming topics, dates and times. The hope is that this blog site can become somewhat of a hub for dialogue and to continue the discussions that are started at the event.

We encourage people to send us any links or videos that may help people in their growing understanding of social justice issues and the like. There is a capacity for us to post youtube videos, which is fantastic. We will be posting September's Jive Talk with Michelle Turner on video as soon as we figure out how to! So stay tuned.

We (Anthony Napoli and Anthony Varenica) are both excited with how Jive Talk has taken off and are hoping to continue engaging with our neighbours, friends and anyone who has the urge to get involved. We are all very busy beings, but we hope that offering this blog site will enable those who often cannot attend in person, the option to listen and contribute online.
